Awning Graphics

Awning Graphics, Awning ApplicationsAI Innovations excels in awning graphic design and awning application. Simply email your artwork to us and we will fax back shop drawings and/or graphics layout for your approval. (See ORDERING PROCESS  for step-by-step details.)

Different processes are used to apply graphics, depending on the awning material.

For backlit awnings, an eradication process is used. This involves reverse-masking of areas where graphics will be positioned. An eradication fluid removes the color from the fabric on those areas--allowing the eradicated letter and/or graphic to illuminate when backlit.

For graphics on acrylic fabrics, AI utilizes heat- transfer to place vinyl graphics directly onto the fabric. Heat-transferred graphics are superior to painted-on graphics because they have cleaner edges and sharper lines. Graphics will also be fade resistant and promise greater durability.

  Graphics Process Application Properties

Heat Transfer Vinyl

Heat Transfer Vinyl Awnings, canopies, and fabric banners--where crisp graphics on non-backlit fabrics are specified. Available in any adhesive vinyl color. For use on woven acrylic fabrics such as Sunbrella. Computer-cut vinyl material is heat-bonded to the substrate fabric.

Adhesive Vinyl

Adhesive Vinyl Backlit awnings, canopies, and fabric banners--where dark color graphics are required on a light color background. This is an economical alternative to the eradication process. Use on translucent vinyl fabrics by applying computer-cut translucent vinyl film directly to the fabric surface. Colors choices are limited.

Eradicated

Eradicated Backlit awnings, canopies, and flexible sign faces--where white graphics are used on a single color background. Translucent eradicable vinyl fabrics--created by chemically eradicating the color surface using a computer-cut stencil mask to reveal the white substrate.

Vinyl Overlay

Vinyl Overlay The same as eradicated graphics, except one color may be used on a different color background instead of white-only. Translucent eradicable vinyl fabrics--created by chemically eradicating the color surface using a computer-cut stencil mask to reveal the white substrate, then applying translucent vinyl film into the eradicated area displaying the specified color.

Inset Digital Print Eradicated

Inset Digital Print Eradicated The same as vinyl overlay, except full-color inset graphics may be used on a color background. Translucent eradicable vinyl fabrics--created by chemically eradicating the color surface using a computer-cut stencil mask to reveal the white substrate, then applying a digitally printed translucent vinyl film into the eradicated area for full color graphics.

Digitally Printed

Digitally Printed Backlit awnings, canopies, and flexible sign faces--used where full-color graphics or photographic images are required. Used on a wide variety of vinyl fabrics--created by printing digital images directly to the fabric substrate. A clear laminate film is available for UV protection (exterior only).
